Giving Refugees a voice and empowering them with necessary skills – that’s the objective of an award winning project called ARTconnects. Artworks and films have been created to promote social cohesion and prevent hate from spreading aswell as empowering women. For Refugee Week 2020 there is an opportunity to share these educational resources with your audiences.

The Migration Blanket is an artwork created by migrant and refugee women in the UK in 2018 and Founder of ARTconnects, award winning artist and peace activist, Salma Zulfiqar. The Blanket shows more than 60 stories of struggles of integration and their hopes and dreams. The women are originally from Somalia, Yemen, Pakistan, India, Senegal and the West Indies. The artwork was exhibited during the Venice Biennale in 2019. A digital presentation with a Q& A is available for projection during events and in gallery spaces.
