Association Pepita is a young company formed last year and based in Paris. This year we produced a daily radio/zoom show during Refugee Week, with support from Platforma. The aim was to hear about the amazing work taking place in the UK from organisations involved with running events during Refugee Week and discovering the people behind them.
As Pepita is based in France it was also a chance to connect with French based Refugee organisations and exchange with them.
Monday we talked with Usman Khalid from Haven Coffee and Pauline Blanchet from Aral Sea Productions.
Tuesday was with Jess Thompson from Migrateful and Blandine Lebrun from a French structure that works with Refugees in Paris called Tandem.
Wednesday we had Catja De Haas and her Giant Dolls House Project, Domenica Pecoraro the Kent Refugee Project Officer from the Diocese of Canterbury and Pierre Henry the Directeur Général of a French Charity called France-Terre-Asile that offers legal aid as well as many other services. A bit more info in English can be found here
Thursday was with Ben Solanky from Empathy Action and Barbara Kentish from People not Walls.
Friday we were joined with Tosin Adeosun from Counterpoint Arts, Kate Scarlet Duffy and Syed Haleem Najibi from Phosphoros Theatre and a Pierre Roques who was situated in Calais and working for the charity Utopia56
Finally Saturday we had Benjamin Dix from Positive Negatives and Juliette Fae from a Paris based Food Bank called Ensemble C’est Possible.
