shado presents: Build Love, Break Walls in partnership with Say It Loud Club and Help Refugees
shado is taking up residency in Bermondsey Project Space for two weeks in celebration of LGBTQI+ history month. This year they are focusing specifically on the experiences of, and barriers faced by, those seeking gender or sexual asylum.
The residency showcases a collection of events and exhibition to celebrate the unifying aspects of love without borders.
They will be joined by Tanaka Fuego on the evening of 12 Feb for a live spoken word performance, as well as talks by Help Refugees and Say It Loud Club

The exhibition includes:
– An exhibition by Help Refugees celebrating their projects around Europe – including Say It Loud Club, a community support group of the LGBTQI+ refugees and asylum seekers in the UK.
– Works by Sola Olulode
– Photography by Alia Romagnoli
– A photography exhibition curated by shado which spotlights and celebrates London-based LGBTQI+ changemakers
– Illustrations in response to the theme Build Love, Break Walls

Say It Loud Club is a community of LGBTQI+ refugees and people seeking asylum living in the UK
Help Refugees is a grassroots charity working with people fleeing war, persecution and climate change.
