Building Theatres of Welcome
Routes Collective presents:
Building theatres of welcome: exploring how theatres can be spaces of welcome for refugees and asylum seekers in London.
Dorfman Theatre, National Theatre, London SE1 9PX
Free, but booking essential via Eventbrite
This event is a chance for theatres and non-profit organisations supporting refugees and asylum seekers in London to come together to discuss how we can build on the work already being done to create theatres of welcome.
We will hear from theatres who have offered space, tickets, opportunities and more, as well as the organisations and individuals who have benefitted. Panelists will include Phosphoros Theatre, Good Chance, Young Vic Taking Part and people with lived experience of seeking asylum in the UK. Further panelists to be announced.
There will then be time to explore how we might strengthen and expand such partnerships across the sector.
This is a free event open to:
– People working for theatres in London
– People working for non-profit organisations supporting refugees and asylum seekers in London
– People who have experience of seeking asylum in the UK
If you don’t fall under any of these categories but would still like to attend, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
All attendees must register individually, but we welcome multiple guests from any organisation.
