Following a successful screening of Eyes with No Barriers at the Exhibit in Balham, the Paper Project are back with an evening screening of short films, discussion and networking. All the films have been made with the support of individuals and organisations that focus on support, empowerment and training for migrants and refugees.

Eyes with no Barriers a series of short films that capture the spontaneous responses of young people from refugee and migrant background responses to world issues. The films were created in a series of 4 workshops using a participatory approach and mobile phone technology. The films were commissioned by Counterpoint Arts forRefugee Week 2015 exhibition “Dis/placed” at Shoreditch Town Hall.

The Paper Project will be sharing two films, a short documentary made by BBC Arts Online about their recent piece Safina Al Hayat, a performance made last year in response to the Refugee Crisis and in solidarity with people crossing the Mediterranean. They will also share afilm from 2013 made by Srik Narayanan and Rosie Saunders of excerpts from their first devised performance, a collaboration with award winning artists Mark Storor. They will discuss their artistic approach to performance-making about migration and share how making immersive, physical and visual performances about migration has changed has had an impact on them as young artists.
