Music & Body Concert

The Atrium Kentish Town Health Centre, 2 Bartholomew Road, London NW5 2BX
NW Live presents: An evening of words and music tracing the migrant journey from Africa and the Middle East to Europe
A dynamic concert of wide-ranging improvisations, compositions and readings of new work by members of Freedom from Torture’s refugee writing group ‘Write to Life’. Readings explore the body as both saviour and burden, while virtuoso musicians Sabina Rakcheyeva violin, Attab Haddad oud, Ant Romero percussion, and Tunde Jegede kora and cello will blend folk, classical and contemporary music from Europe, Africa and the Middle East with Bach and Schubert. Join us for a celebration of our multi-cultural society through an artistic exploration of what brings people from different countries, cultures and traditions together as musicians, writers and audience.
Founded as a concert organisation in 2018, NW Live Arts reimagines classical repertoire and music from other cultures in new ways. Exploring important social themes creatively, we aim to connect professional musicians, dancers and writers with local communities bringing artists and audiences closer together.
