Tangle Cafe: The Ubuntu Hour
The Ubuntu Hour, a new series of monthly online events, from Tangle Theatre Company, aims to create a new platform and opportunity to keep people connected.
Each month special guests will be sharing their ‘recipes for survival’. October’s opening topic is ‘Staying motivated and relevant in the industry through setbacks’, with award-winning writer, director, composer, choreographer, designer, producer and performer Rikki Beadle-Blair MBE and award-winning writer and actor Yolanda Mercy amongst our guest speakers and chaired by the Chair of the board of Trustees at Tangle, Kofi Ohene-Djan.
Ubuntu is an Xhosa word meaning ‘I am because you are’, a core value of Tangle. The Ubuntu hour builds on this by showing that no matter what stage you are in your career, what role or background, you have an important voice and place as part of our community.
The Café will also feature ‘Bring and share’, a safe and supportive space for artists to bring an idea or share a performance with our lovely group. You can sign up to take part in ‘Bring and share’ by contacting us directly on email@example.com.
