Lure of the Lost: The Right of Free Movement

Mon 20 July, 2-4pm, Toynbee Studios, London

Discussion on the Right to Travel, from Deveron Arts

Freedom of movement, or the right to travel is a human right that many of us in our times of ubiquitous travel take for granted. At the same time, this fundamental right to mobility is denied to many people across the globe, not only within their own country, but between states.

Anthony Schrag, artist of Zimbabwean origin with multiple citizenships, is walking this summer from Huntly, in the north of Scotland, to the Venice Biennial. Through discussion with others he will be putting his privileged journey into perspective, based on ethical and philosophical grounds.

Joining the discussion among others is human rights journalist Alastair Sloan and artist Maya Youssef. Chaired by Manick Govinda from Artsadmin and visiting artist campaigner for the Manifesto Club.
