Welcome Cinema + Kitchen present: Keteke
25 New Inn Yard, London, EC2A 3EA
Welcome Cinema + Kitchen celebrate the month of love with an independent, Ghanaian, rom-com .
‘A madcap race against time follows in this colourful screwball comedy, with a wry but affection nod to Ghanaian traditions and gender dynamics.’
GHANA 1980s – A young couple hell bent on delivering their first baby in the Akete, miss their train. A wrong decision finds them in the middle of nowhere. Will they make it in time for the birth, or, risk losing the baby and mother? This fresh, bold comedy delivers laughs alongside clever narration of Africa’s chronic post-colonial underdeveloped state.
After the screening, we will be joined by writer-director, Peter Sedufia to discuss the making of the movie, the challenges of Gollywood, and his work to come.
Special guests and speakers to be announced.
The evening begins with Welcome Kitchen’s infamous supper club. For this event, the team will be adding traditional Ghanaian dishes to their ever popular ‘world food plate’. Meet the chefs and make friends with the other guests. We promise you will be talking about it for weeks.
