Welcome Cinema + Kitchen kicks off 2018 with a screening of Oscar winning boxing documentary, WHEN WE WERE KINGS. The evening begins with Welcome Kitchen’s infamous supper club. Dishes from Africa to Asia make up a ‘world food plate’.

After the screening, British boxing champion Kelvin Bilal Fawaz will be reflecting on the film, his career and recent detention at Tinsley House immigration centre. Bilal joins Ramla Ali, the first female, British, Muslim boxing champion, a former child refugee and future Olympiad. The panel is chaired by BBC and Network TV sports commentator and personality, Ronald McIntosh.

Tickets are free to refugees and asylum seekers. Prices start at £19.50 for everyone else.
